Light for Dremel Workstation 220. New version.

Hi!
About two years ago I've made a work area lighting for my Dremel Workstation 220. Really simple  - 3AA batteries, resistor and a bunch of white LEDs (all in parallel) from broken flashlight. Not bad, but these LEDs have narrow light spots and large power consumption.

So I decided to make new work area lighting using Joule thief and some 120° white SMD LED's. BTW I've found a box with semi-depleted AA batteries.

Schematic:

Inductor core from old motherboard. Outer diameter ~14-16mm, green-blue. Seems to be powder iron.

Assembly:

PCB? Are you kidding? =)

Light module
5x ARL-1210UWC LED's in series

Semi-transparent cover (also acts as case)
Power section
Battery holder

A lot of glue =)
Final testing. These batteries (~1V each) are from remote controls. Light works fine, remote controls not =)

It works!
Mounting light module to caret
Light will be here

Light module fixed with glue
Ready to work! Room lights are off.

Ready to work

Much better!
