Some time ago I've bought a really cheap and simple glue gun. Device works fine, but there was no power-on indication.
Today I decided to make tiny device update =)

Hole with LED holder |

230VAC LED |
LED is powered from 230VAC mains through 0.1uF capacitor and 100 Ohm resistor (as a fuse). 820 kOhm resistor is connected to capacitor for safety. SMD diode M7 is soldered directly to LED with reverse polarity (blocks negative voltage, protecting LED).
Note: This circuit has direct connection to high voltage mains! Isolate every connection!

Yes, it works =) |
Also I think about heater state indicator. Maybe later.
